Author: Yutong Lin

From February 25 to 27, 2025, Science Directors from the Asia-Pacific Typhoon Research Center (AP-TCRC), Prof. Chan Chung Leung Johnny and Dr. Robert Fulton Rogers, visited Yokohama National University (YNU). The delegation held discussions with experts from YNU's Institute for Multidisciplinary Sciences (IMS). They explored avenues for academic exchange and continued opportunities for global collaboration, focusing on topics including advanced typhoon observation technologies and disaster prevention and mitigation models.

This visit marks a significant step towards strengthening international collaboration in typhoon research within the Asia-Pacific region. By combining the interdisciplinary research strengths of YNU and the technical resources of the AP-TCRC, the partnership aims to advance the understanding of typhoon dynamics and improve forecasting techniques, ultimately contributing to more effective disaster preparedness and risk reduction worldwide.
